Since 2019, we started taking water conservation projects in and around villages at Taluka Mokhada, District Palghar (North of Thane) Maharashtra. This region has torrential rains; however, because of lack of water management by localgovernment bodies, all the rain water in this region gets drained in the sea. There are more than 200 such villages in this region. These villages have an average population of around 300-600 Adivasis. They do not have any other source of income but Agriculture. Due to paucity of water, they are unable to take multiple crops in a year. They follow old conventional crop management practices, which do not give them good yield.

Every year from the month of April to June i.e., till the monsoon starts, these villages face tremendous scarcity of water. The women as well as young girls (even 3 years old) are seldom seen walking 2-4 Kms. to and fro and climbing 100-200 ft deep valleys to get down a steep well without any support or harness to fetch a bowl of water. They have to do this exercise twice or even thrice a day. They stand in long queues throughout the night for water. In short, they have to face inhuman hardships for basic needs of living.
Having witnessed this horrifying and inhuman situation we decided to take up water conservation project for them. With the help of our experts, we do the survey of such villages and decide upon the solution for them. This solution depends upon the requirement of the village and its topography. After having done the survey, our expert team comes with a solution with that particular village. Accordingly, we built new wells, strengthen the existing welIs, construct sub surface bunds/water sheds in fields of prescribed dimensions from our experts. These bunds enhance the water table of the well, enabling the villagers to have enough water for the whole year (even during the 3 months of scarcity of water from April to June). On an average a crore of liters of water is saved after this project. We also provide solar pump, provide water pipes so as to provide water to all the houses in the villages.
Till date we have completed water conservation projects for Ten villages with the object of providing water to these villages throughout the year.
We have provided educational aid, stationery, school bags, raincoats, text books, exercise books to Five schools in villages.
Blossom in association with Sankalpan Group of Companies, provided 12 Jumbo oxygen cylinders, blankets and linens to covid centre in Mokhada.
